The Ultra 2 has a Retina LTPO OLED display with 410 x 502 pixels (49mm, 1185 sq mm) at ~338 PPI. The display is quite extensive relative to that of the Series 8 and it is well-suited for dive metrics. Performance and Software

The Ultra 2 is operated by the S9 SiP with a 64-bit dual-core processor and a 4-core Neural Engine, the device is packed with 64GB of storage and can be run on the operating system watchOS 10 (upgradable to watchOS 11). The S9 is about 30% quicker than the previous Ultra model’s S8, it can also do things like on-device Siri, Double Tap, Oceanic+ dive features. Sensors and Health

While the US versions from January 18, 2024 do not have a blood oxygen sensor, this feature remains in the model no US, third-generation optical heart sensor, electrical heart sensor (ECG), temperature sensor, depth gauge (40m), water temperature sensor, high-g accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, and always-on altimeter. It is also possible to detect sleep apnea, perform Cycle Tracking, and use Oceanic+ dive metrics. Users appreciate its wide range of health and adventure functions, but regret that the lack of blood oxygen, the US version, is just not very popular.

Battery and Charging

The device has a battery that can keep going for ~36 hours (300 time checks, 90 notifications, 15 min app use, 60 min workout) and ~72 hours in Low Power Mode, with a 564mAh cell. One can get closer to full charge with fast charging (0–80% in ~1h) and a Magnetic Fast Charger USB-C Cable. Based on daily use, we end up with the figures 30–34 hours.
