The Dell XPS 13 9340 is composed of a CNC-machined aluminum body with a 14.8mm slender profile, coming in at 1.19kg (non-touch) or 1.22kg (touch) in weight. The device is available in Graphite and Platinum and has a 13.4-inch display. The carbon fiber palm rest adds an extra layer of security. The laptop supports MIL-STD-810H compliance while providing no water resistance. Those using it have been congratulatory about the aluminum body as a premium product type, stating that it is only a bit heavier than the MacBook Air M2 therefore almost perfect.

Dell XPS 13 9340 Display

The XPS 13 9340 boasts a 13.4-inch screen and provides the following variants: FHD+ (1920 x 1200, 60Hz, 500 nits, non-touch), QHD+ (2560 x 1600, 120Hz, 400 nits, touch), or OLED 3K (2880 x 1800, 60Hz, 400 nits, touch). All the mentioned displays come with ~169 PPI and additionally hardened cover by Gorilla Glass. HDR feature isn't supported. The customers appreciated the vivid and clear picture while pointing out that the screen of the MacBook Air is much brighter than the one in the XPS 13 9340 Machines.

Performance and Software

The XPS 13 9340 is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 5 125H or Ultra 7 155H (max 16 cores, 4.8GHz), and offers 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB LPDDR5x RAM, and 512GB–2TB SSD storage capacity. It has Windows 11 Home and Pro as its OS. The Intel Arc GPU is capable of running simple games. People appreciated its productivity-related performance and stated that its competing product, the MacBook Air M2, uses less energy than the Intel’s Arc GPU.

Pricing and Availability

XPS 13 9340 started at $1,299 (Core Ultra 5, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD) when it was launched in January 2024 through Dell and authorized retailers. More advanced models can cost $2,099. It's still being sold, with certified refurbished models being offered at ~$900-$1200. The customers liked the high-quality construction of this laptop model, but found that the MacBook Air is much better for the battery.
