The 40mm and 44mm variants of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 are constructed from a durable aluminum housing with a razor-thin 9mm profile, the least thick in the lineup. The size of the 40mm model is only 28.7g and the 44mm is 33.3g. The available colors are Graphite, Gold (40mm), and Graphite, Silver (44mm). It can be fastened on 130-210mm wrists, comes with the capacitive touch bezel, side buttons, and 20mm one-click bands. The front made of Sapphire Crystal increases the watch’s durability, which now has certification with IP68 for water and dust resistance (up to 1.5m for 30min) as well as with MIL-STD-810H for drops. Galaxy Watch 6 Display

One of the main attributes of the Watch 6 is the Super AMOLED screen with 432 x 432 (40mm, 1.3 inches) or 480 x 480 (44mm, 1.5 inches) resolutions and ~330 PPI on both displays. Additionally, it is rated for a maximum of 2000 nits of brightness (the previous Watch 5 had 20% lower luminosity than the newer model) and has such a large display that the manufacturer can afford to keep the device constantly on for the ease of users. Given the ability of the display these days, many Watch 6 fans have also praised its ability to be as vibrant as the Classic. They still feels the same after the sun test is carried out.

Performance and Software

The Watch 6 is equipped with the Exynos W930 (dual-core, 1.4GHz, 5nm) processor along with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, while the Watch 6 runs Wear OS 4 with One UI 5 Watch (the OS can be upgraded to One UI 6). According to the information provided, the W930 chip in Watch 6 is approximately 18% faster than the previous W920 chip in Watch 5, and at the same time, it opens the door to running Samsung Health, Samsung Wallet and Camera without any problem. Among them, the smart Watch also supports sleep apnea detection and continuous follow-up of heart rate.

The Watch 6 comes with a BioActive Sensor (accurate heart rate, correct ECG, proper body composition), temperature sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, geomagnetic sensor, and light sensor. It is capable of reading ECG, blood oxygen (SpO2), and sleep with apnea detection and has a menu to track the menstrual cycle. Health features are the same as in the Watch 6 Classic, although some users complain that for ECG and SpO2 purposes, they are tied to Samsung phones.

Battery and Charging

40 hours of battery life are guaranteed with the Watch 6, which employs a 300mAh (40mm) or 425mAh (44mm) battery. It comes with fast wireless charging (0–50% in ~30min) using a magnetic USB-C charger. When used in real life, the display is left always-on, and the duration is about 30–36 hours, which is quite close to the Watch 6 Classic. Many users like the quick charging process but say it lasts shorter than that of the Watch 5 Pro.

Pricing and Availability

For the 40mm (Bluetooth, aluminum version) one, the Watch 6 came onto the market at the price of $299.99 on August 11, 2023, via Samsung, carriers, and retailers, and was thus launched. With the addition of LTE, the price goes $50 up and the 44mm version starts at $329.99. Quite surprisingly, it can be all yours for just ~$250 when bought from retailers. It has got minimal features for a good price for users who like it as an alternative to the Classic model.
