The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, which is available in the sizes of 43mm and 47mm, comes with a high-grade stainless-steel cover of a mere 10.9mm thickness and a characteristic physical rotating bezel but has 15% more thin than Watch 4 Classic. The 43mm model is 52g with the 47mm one at 59g. The available colors are Black and Silver. It comes with a 130–210mm wrist size, a rotating bezel, side buttons, and 20mm one-click bands are interchangeable. The Sapphire Crystal besides the front panel provides finishing with IP68 water and dust resistance (up to 1.5m for 30min) and MIL-STD-810H compliance. The front bezel, the one which is used to control the smartwatch, gives users a feeling of being reliable and a generally premium touch, but there is also a note that it is bulkier compared to the Watch 6.

Galaxy Watch 6 Classic Display

The Watch 6 Classic has been installed with a Super AMOLED display having 432 x 432 pixels for the 43mm model (1.3 inches) or 480 x 480 pixels for the 47mm model (1.5 inches), reaching ~330 PPI in both cases. It boasts up to 2000 nits brightness, thereby being 20% brighter than Watch 5, and is capable of maintaining the always-on feature. The display aids in using the phone outdoors without any readability issues, no matter if it is the app or the notification. Besides being liked by consumers for its colors and vividness, the screen has also been criticized for not showing much progress over the Watch 5.

Performance and Software

Running on the Exynos W930 (dual-core, 1.4 GHz, 5nm) with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage , the Watch 6 Classic is compatible with Wear OS 4 together with One UI 5 Watch (later upgradeable to One UI 6). Its processing speed is ~18% faster than that of W920 which was in the Watch 5, and it also has the ability to work with Samsung Health, Samsung Wallet, and the Camera Controller. The device can offer the users their individual heart rate zones and will detect the occurrence of sleep apnea. The product is described as very fast by the customers, but they make a note of the fact that it is only suitable for Android (there is no iPhone support).

The W930 ensures fluid performance, with Wear OS 4 adding enhanced app support, but upgrades over Watch 5 are subtle.

The Watch 6 Classic also incorporates a BioActive Sensor (heart rate, ECG, body composition), a temperature sensor, an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a barometer, a geomagnetic sensor, a light sensor, and a 3D Hall sensor for bezel interaction. It also features ECG, SpO2, sleep tracking with apnea dete... menstrual cycle tracking. The users think that the number and variety of the health characteristics make it a holistic health watch, nevertheless, the Overall, ECG and SpO2 functions need a Samsung phone to be fully operational for customers.

Battery and Charging

The Watch 6 Classic gives users battery life of about 40 hours (300 notifications, 15min app use, 60min workout) with a battery of 300mAh (43mm) or 425mAh (47mm) capacity. It allows fast wireless charging (0–50% in ~30min) by way of a magnetic USB-C charger. The battery of the always-on display can also be used continuously for more than one day. The customers like the charging speed, but they point out that the battery life is shorter than that of Watch 5 Pro.

Connectivity

The Watch 6 Classic is designed to provide Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n, 2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, dual-band GPS (L1+L5), NFC, and LTE (cellular models, $449+), that is, it supports cellular networks and allows access to all features when there is no Wi-Fi. In addition, a microphone and speaker are available for calls and music playback.

Pricing and Availability

It took a price of $399.99 to get the Watch 6 Classic with its 43mm, Bluetooth, steel case to the market and Samsung, carriers, and retail stores have it already on sale since August 11, 2023. LTE models are $50 costlier, and the 47mm model you can buy at a starting price of $429.99. It is also worth mentioning that the 47mm LTE model is accessible for pre-order, but the 43mm version is still in stock.
