The Huawei Mate 60 Pro Plus 5G, a flagship smartphone, is a metal frame vegan leather option with a weight of 8.9mm and 225g. The device was offered in Inkstone Black and Brocade White and its 6.82-inch display was bolder and more premium. The device was also equipped with features such as IP68 water/dust resistance and an in-display fingerprint sensor, making it as sophisticated as the Pura 70 Ultra.

Display

Moreover, the Mate has an LTPO OLED display of 6.82 inches with 2720 x 1260 resolution that provides 440 PPI and a refresh rate of 120Hz. By 1800 nits brightness and HDR10+ support, it is great for media and gaming. This display is protected by Kunlun Glass, it is as clear and vivid as the Pura 70 Pro.

Performance and Software

Powered by the Kirin 9000S (octa-core, 2.62GHz, 7nm), the Mate 60 Pro Plus 5G offers 16GB RAM and 512GB/1TB storage. Running HarmonyOS 4.0, it excels in multitasking and gaming, rivaling the Pura 70 Ultra. Geekbench 5 scores are ~950 (Single-Core) and ~3800 (Multi-Core). It lacks Google Play Store, using Huawei’s AppGallery.

Pricing and Availability

The Mate 60 Pro Plus 5G was first introduced in September 2023 and was released at an initial price of about $1300 for the 16GB/512GB model. The device was only available in China through Huawei’s channels. Now refurbished ones are offered at a price between $900 and $1100, which means a 5G flagship smartphone with high performance is still available, however, limited availability globally and no access to Google services may be a problem.
