First and foremost, the iPhone 14 Plus has an attractive and lightweight design that is achieved by a frame made of aerospace-grade aluminum, a front of Ceramic Shield, and a color-infused glass back. The phone measures 6.33 x 3.07 x 0.31 inches (160.8 x 78.1 x 7.8 mm) and weighs 7.16 ounces (203g), which makes it bigger than the iPhone 14 but lighter than the Pro models, offering users the possibility of having a big-screen experience with the same time they are enjoying the comfort of the phone. In five lively colors that are Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Red, and Purple, the new iPhone 14 has been offered, which, as we can see, boasts the usual notch.

The brains of the device, the A15 Bionic chip, are removed from the iPhone 13 Pro and created using a 5nm process, which enables the iPhone 14 Plus to reach high performance due to the 16-core Neural Engine, 6-core CPU, and the 5-core GPU. It comes with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM, which is enough to do even the most demanding tasks like gaming and multitasking, although it is less of a performer than the A16 in the Pro models. The user has access to three storage capacities: 128GB ($899), 256GB ($999), and 512GB ($1199). Both, the 60Hz display of the iPhone 14 Plus and the old chip are responsible for the fact that the phone is not available with a feature like Always-On Display or Dynamic Island.
Test | iPhone 14 Plus Score |
---|---|
Geekbench 5 (Single-Core) | 1,720 |
Geekbench 5 (Multi-Core) | 4,650 |
3DMark Wild Life Unlimited | 11,200, 67.2 fps |
GFXBench Metal Score | 3,200 frames, 49.8 fps |
The A15 Bionic remains fast for most tasks, but it’s a step behind the A16 in Pro models, with slightly lower benchmark scores. Reviewers praise its reliability for everyday use, but some note minor lag in intensive tasks like video editing compared to Pro models.
iPhone 14 Plus comes with a couple of camera system which contains a 12MP Main (f/1.5, 26mm, the sensor-shift OIS) and a 12MP Ultra Wide (f/2.4, 13mm, 120° FOV). It does not have a telephoto lens and 48MP sensor like Pro models, but the main sensor is bigger, thus improving the low-light performance. The 12MP front camera (f/1.9) has autofocus and also supports Face ID. 4K Dolby Vision at 60 fps and Cinematic Mode (4K 30 fps) for video, and Action Mode, limited only to 2.8 K, are among its video capabilities. The True Tone flash is useful while shooting in low light.

4400mAh battery is the new pack in iPhone 14 Plus, which can be used to watch 26 hours of video content, but the real-life usage of the phone is around 18 to 20 hours. The battery can be charged with 20W wired charging (50% in 30 minutes), 15W MagSafe, and 7.5W Qi wireless charging. You can only find a Lightning cable packed in the box, but no charger. However, due to the A15 chip and a larger battery, it is equipped to support such a good battery life that it almost parallels the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The iPhone 14 Plus is equipped with a Qualcomm X65 5G modem, which is capable of sub-6 GHz and mmWave 5G (U.S. only) for ultra-fast download speeds, provided the network is good. It also comes with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.3, and dual eSIM. The latter part is the sign of the times, as there is no physical SIM in the U.S. The absence of the U1 ultra-wideband chip is the distinguishable trait that puts it apart from the Pro models not able to do Precision Finding for AirTags. The satellite connectivity feature is to come out in November 2022, will be automatically activated in case of an emergency, and will allow messaging in no-coverage areas, free for two years. The GPS system includes GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and BeiDou.
