By introducing a glass back and a durable aluminum frame, the iPhone 8 Plus makes the iPhone 7 Plus design even better and adds wireless charging. This product measures 6.24 x 3.07 x 0.30 inches and is 7.13 ounces, meaning it’s slightly heavier, but more robust than the old Lenovo, the A13. With colors being Space Gray, Silver, and Gold, the glass back of iPhone helps prevent fingerprints from collecting. Apple has added Touch ID to the Home button, allowing you to easily use your phone at its bigger size.

The iPhone 8 Plus is able to wirelessly charge at 7.5W with Qi and includes everything from previous generations, but not the more advanced Face ID or edge-to-edge display since the price has to be right. Because of its larger size, the iPhone X can have dual cameras, a feature not found on the iPhone 8.

Apple’s iPhone 8 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch Retina HD LCD screen that has 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution (401 PPI). With True Tone, the display adjusts automatically for best color accuracy, while a typical 625 nits brightness makes it easy to see in bright rooms. Standard on many TVs, the 60Hz refresh rate means there isn’t support for HDR like there is on OLED-based iPhones.

Watching movies and playing games is excellent on this display, despite the fact that its bezels seem too wide for some, while the refresh rate is only 60Hz. People like the sharpness of the display, even if the LCD panel doesn’t compare to OLED in terms of vibrancy.

Software and Processor

The A11 Bionic chip in iPhone 8 Plus has 6 CPU cores and 3 GPU cores, providing the Phone with 70% better CPU performance than its predecessor, the iPhone 7 Plus. Its 3GB of RAM and either 64GB or 256 GB storage makes multitasking and using AR apps easy. When it was released in 2017, it came with iOS 11 and can be upgraded to iOS 16 so far, enjoying five years of software support.

The device gives strong performance, but too many apps can open on newer iOS versions due to a limited 3GB RAM. Some people report slight slowness with iOS 16, but the phone continues to be stable for most purposes.

Camera System

There are dual 12MP cameras on the back of the iPhone 8 Plus: OIS comes with a wide-angle lens (f/1.8) and a telephoto lens (f/2.8) for 2x zoom. Video can be taken at 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, and the phone also supports 1080p slo-mo at 240 frames per second. It comes with a 7MP front camera (f/2.2), able to take both videos in 1080p and selfies using Retina Flash. With Portrait Lighting, your portraits will look like you were using a professional studio.

By using dual cameras, the phone can take a variety of pictures with superior performance in dim conditions and at a zoom. The Portrait mode is commended, but it doesn’t have the dynamic range that newer iPhone models do.

Battery Specifications

According to its specifications, you can play up to 21 hours of video with the iPhone 8 Plus’ 2,691mAh battery. You can charge it with 15W wired charging and 7.5W Qi wireless. Tests show that you can get about 12 hours of mixed use from a Pixel 5, and more than the 8-hour usage on an iPhone 8 thanks to the bigger battery.

Pricing and Availability

On September 22, 2017, the iPhone 8 Plus went on sale at $799 for 64GB and $949 for 256GB. You can get an iPhone 14 through Apple, carriers, and retailers, and you can trade it in with Apple’s Trade-In program.
