Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 1, a 14-inch device, has a 17.9mm thick magnesium alloy and plastic-body construction and weighs 1.47kg. It is presented in Black along with a backlit keyboard and a TrackPoint, which are optional. MIL-STD-810G durability certification is the guarantee of durability. Although the build quality is considered excessive, users have reported that it is thicker than the ThinkPad X1 Carbon.

The T14 Gen 1, which is available in 256GB or 512GB PCIe SSD versions, is equipped with the 8GB or the 16GB DDR4 RAM, depending on the user’s preference. This laptop comes with pre-installed Windows 10 Pro, but it can be upgraded to Windows 11. It does not have the fast performance and we cannot expect its battery to last as long as that of ThinkPad L13 Gen 2. All the same, a user finds the productivity regular, if not robust but highlights the underpowered graphics..

The T14 Gen 1, lets users go for two of the four specifications, and whoever selects, it should be understood a user will receive either two USB-C and two USB-A, or HDMI, and RJ45 Ethernet. There would be a 3.5mm audio jack for instance. Thе Thunderbolt 3 interface is also available. All the ports are working fine, but an expert hears complaints about no built-in SD card reader that was available in a previous version called Lenovo ThinkPad T495.

Initially costing $1,099 (i5-10310U, 8GB, 256GB), the T14 Gen 1 launched in June 2020 at Lenovo, as well as at retail partners. Those who fancy laptops with bigger capacity can go for the second model that was initially sold at $1,299. With the cutting of the production, the company did not dispose of the stock and now recycles it by reselling it at the price of $400 to $600. Everyone liked the non-occurring nature of this product, however, did not wish for such expansive usage to be a minus of a competitor like ThinkPad L13 Gen 2.
