Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra raises the bar in premium smartphones by focusing on both looks and useful features. Both the front and back of the device are made with Gorilla Glass Victus+, making them strong and stylish and they feature an armor aluminum frame. It measures 6.43 x 3.07 x 0.35 inches (163.3 x 77.9 x 8.9 mm) and weighs 8.07 ounces (229g), thanks to its bigger display and bundled S Pen. The S22 Ultra is truly elegant, since it’s offered in Phantom Black and Phantom White matte colors. Side Key changes the regular buttons so you can quickly launch the camera or Bixby.

The S22 Ultra does not have UWB, but is able to charge up to 15W wirelessly and provides reverse wireless charging. Third-party grips can increase the number of accessories that will fit your phone. Eliminating the home button helps the screen fill the front of the phone and allows you to unlock it by face recognition.
Its display measures 6.8 inches diagonally and is a Dynamic AMOLED 2X with 3088 x 1440 resolution (500 PPI). That gives it amazing colors and deep blacks for HDR10+ content. The viewing experience is excellent even in rooms full of light, thanks to its 1750 nits high peak brightness. Smooth scrolling is available thanks to the 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, but you can’t turn on an Always-On Display to help battery life. Its curved screen and thin edges help you focus on the display, though a few say the straight top looks somewhat behind the times since most displays now use punch holes.
With its 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (8-core CPU in the 1+3+4 configuration), the S22 Ultra reaches peak performance and comes in the RAM options 8GB and 12GB. The Snapdragon 888 is 70% quicker than the S21’s Exynos 2100, leading in both gaming and handling multiple tasks at the same time. The phone can play AAA games smoothly thanks to its 12-core Adreno GPU and Bixby Vision is improved by the Neural Processor. You can pick up the device with 128GB of storage for $599, 256GB for $699 or 512GB for $899. On Android 12 (which can be upgraded to 15), this phone will receive up to 5 years of software updates thanks to One UI 4.1.

The S22 Ultra has four rear cameras: a main 108MP lens (f/1.8), a 12MP ultra-wide (f/2.2) and a 10MP 3x and 10x zoom lens pair (each has its own f number). The main front camera has 40 megapixels, f/2.2 aperture and can take autofocused 4K selfies. 8K footage at 24 fps and 4K at 60 fps can be recorded, with Super Steady stabilization included. The features Night Mode, Director’s View and AI-enabled portraits work very well on the device, but the ultra-wide lens does not include macro focus.

The new S22 Ultra can play videos for up to 25 hours, while the previous S21 Ultra only did so for 22 hours. Actual use shows 19 hours when the device is mixed between watching and listening. X60 Pro can be charged wirelessly at 15W and wired at 45W, with half the battery charged in 20 minutes. Even though the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 saves battery, heavy 8K recording can eat up the battery faster.
Samsung included 5G (both sub-6 GHz and mmWave), Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 in the S22 Ultra. You can store two eSIM cards and make easy NFC payments. You cannot use emergency SOS via a satellite, but location tracking is always accurate with GPS, GLONASS and Galileo.
If you’re looking for 128GB of storage, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will cost $599 on its launch, while those who need 256GB will pay $699 and those who want 512GB will have to spend $899. You will be able to pre-order the new titles on February 21. Buy a new Galaxy S21 through any of the listed outlets: Samsung, Verizon, T-Mobile or leading retailers.
