The Vivo Y03 that was released in March 2024 is a plastic device with a matte finish, targeted at users who are on a tight budget. The phone with dimensions 6.47 x 2.99 x 0.33 inches (164.2 x 75.8 x 8.4 mm) and weight 6.52 ounces (185g) is solid but light in around 185 grams. It comes in Space Black and Gem Green colors and is also equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a waterdrop notch. Its IP54 certificate covers splash and dust resistance.

The Y03 omits wireless charging and other premium features in order to remain affordable. Its matte surface helps to minimize fingerprints, but the plastic construction is obviously cheap. The IP54 rating is extremely important to users even if the device is of budget type.
The 6.56-inch IPS LCD panel features a 720 x 1612 resolution (269 PPI) and a 90Hz refresh rate which makes scrolling more fluid. The brightness is ~400 nits, so it’s good for indoors but not sufficient for outdoor use. It doesn’t have HDR support.
The display is decent for basic use, with the 90Hz refresh rate adding value. However, low resolution and brightness limit its appeal for media.
The MediaTek Helio G85 chipset powers the Y03 which features an 8-core CPU (2x Cortex-A75 at 2.0 GHz, 6x Cortex-A55 at 1.8 GHz) and a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. The combination of 4GB RAM and 64/128GB storage is just right for light tasks. Funtouch 14 on Android 14 promises 1 year of OS update.

Performance is good for simple apps, but multitasking is slow. The interface is simple, but it is only supported for a short time.
The dual-back camera on this device contains a 13MP main sensor (f/2.2, PDAF) and a 0.08MP additional lens (f/3.0). The 5MP selfie camera (f/2.2) allows for 1080p video recording and has basic Portrait Mode as a feature.

The camera is simple, taking good pictures in daylight but bad at low-light. The secondary lens does not seem to have much effect.
The 5000mAh battery is compatible with 15W charging, which means it can play videos for about 20 hours or be used for mixed applications for about 15 hours.
