The Vivo Y21s, which was launched in August 2021, comes with a plastic frame and back with a matte finish to hide fingerprints. The Y21s has no wireless charging in order to make it more affordable. The users are happy with its light weight but they also say that the plastic feels like it comes from a lower price range.

Vivo Y21s Display

The 6.51-inch IPS LCD provides a resolution of 720 x 1600 (270 PPI) with a brightness of 400 nits. The 60Hz refresh rate is typical, shielded by Panda Glass.

The display is adequate for basic use, but low resolution limits sharpness. Reviewers note the waterdrop notch feels outdated.

Software and Processor

The Y21s is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 which is an 8-core processor accompanied by 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. It is running Funtouch OS 11.1 (Android 11) and has a support of 2 years of updates. AnTuTu results are about 200,000.

The Helio P35 is definitely good for basic activities but it is not suitable for gaming. Users have mentioned bloatware problems with Funtouch OS.

Camera System

The triple-camera consists of a 50MP main (f/1.8), 2MP macro (f/2.4), and 2MP depth (f/2.4). The 8MP front camera (f/2.0) is great for selfies. It has Night mode and can record 1080p at 30fps.

The primary shooter is acceptable in favorable lighting conditions, however, its low-light capability is bad. The close-up lens has been described as the most disappointing one by the people who reviewed it.

Battery Specifications

The 5000mAh battery can provide 20 hours of video playback, and with 18W quick charging that gets to 50% in about 40 minutes, it's very convenient. Tests performed under real conditions indicate a duration of about 16 hours for mixed usage.
